We started buying property over ten years ago. Our portfolio has slowly but steadily grown – always with our retirement in mind. After building from the ground up a few times, you really learn some valuable lessons. We have had some great and not so great experiences. All in all, each Moffitt Property is special to us and we figured why not share our strategy and ideas?
Our goal with this blog is to share tips about two things: real estate investments and how to make them pretty. We hope that you will learn how to use your real estate purchases to benefit your families now and your retirement later!
Rusty is the mastermind when it comes to the investment and money side. I on the other hand am really just here to make things pretty! I love putting my shopping skills to work – ask Rusty, I’m a really great shopper! At each of our properties, I have combined middle of the road Amazon finds with high end statement pieces to achieve whatever look I’m going for. I love a great dupe as much as I love luxury so why not have both?
We have some of the best tenants you could ask for at our rental properties – our family! My sister and Dad both rent from us, allowing us to control great rates for them (so they can save too) and protect our investments. It’s a win win!
Our vacation properties have all been designed with our family and friends in mind. How many people can we sleep? How many people can I sit at the dinner table? How can I add more rooms in the future? And while we want to keep some of our properties forever, others are only temporary holds that we are utilizing for the time being.
